Don Coatney Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 I have been looking for a while and finally scored this for twelve bucks and change delivered. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=005&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=150142803314&rd=1,1 Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 If I needed something like that, I'd just order a new one, or go to a local speed shop and pick one up. Then you wouldn't have to look or wait for one. Why wait for ebay and buy used. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 Norm..Don can now afford a few more rolls of paper towels on his overall savings... Quote

Gotta love it when I finally (for the first time in my life) have a theme. I wanted a used fuel block that looks used. If I wanted a new one I would have to drop a new SBC in to connect it to Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 Don, Nothing wrong with that. It's just something I do now. Won't look for something used if I know I can pick up a phone and order it. First, who knows when I'd find it used and second if I'd win the bid if on ebay. At least by ordering a new one I can then forget about that part and move on to something else. They do come new in polished or brushed aluminum. Yes that would stand out too if you want it to look old. However, just dip it in a little Phosphoric acid for a couple of seconds or minutes and it will oxide and look old. Or a good strong salt solution will have about the same affect on aluminum, will just take a little longer. If you want a few nicks in it, hit it with a screwdriver a few times before dipping it. Now it looks old. Quote
Charlie Olson Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 Moomeyes.com sells a reproduction fuel block for $60. Google: Nostalgia Fuel Block to see a oic of it; pretty cool Quote
Don Coatney Posted July 25, 2007 Author Report Posted July 25, 2007 sorry but what is a fuel block? John; A fuel block is a device to connect one fuel line into several fuel lines. Used on multiple carburetor applications. Quote
martybose Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 Be very careful about what hoses you use with this. I found out that the nice red fuel lines I tried were actually FDA-approved for food stuff instead of being for gasoline. That explains why they were ballooning and leaking like sieves at the clamping points. I chased leaks for two weeks, then threw them away and made up some AN lines using something meant for fuel; no leaks since! Marty Quote
