Cudan Posted October 30, 2016 Report Posted October 30, 2016 hi, I want to lift the body of the frame ( p15 1948 coupe ) who knows the weight of the body ( no doors etc attached ) Dan Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 30, 2016 Report Posted October 30, 2016 not sure I have ever seen that data posted...and I did not weigh mine when off and would not even venture at a WAG. Are you attempting a multi-person hands on lift off or are you going to use a hoist or chain fall of some sort? I removed and replaced mine and many other Plymouth bodies by myself with aide of floor jacks and special reinforced rocker support beams to the height of some 32 inches off ground level and blocked on 6 x 6 beams as I worked frame and under body issues. Eneto-55 Posted October 31, 2016 Report Posted October 31, 2016 I lifted mine off (the first time w/ the doors still on, later w/o doors) with a chain hoist in front, and a come-along at the rear. Set it down on 2 x 6's laid flat, on 4 15 gal drums. I worked under it that way, too. It didn't bow the 2x6's at all, either, or I would not have gotten under it like that. Quote
Dartgame Posted October 31, 2016 Report Posted October 31, 2016 We pulled the stripped body shell off a p-12 coupe - used four strong guys. Not that bad. Quote
casper50 Posted October 31, 2016 Report Posted October 31, 2016 I used an engine hoist to remove my 47 dodge 3 window coupe body. Quote
