After a 13 month hiatus my D24 is back in service and on the road again. Through a tip I got here on the forum I was steered to Paskoreef Micro Restorations where I was able to buy a replacement carb from one of the nicest people I have ever dealt with. Then I got a rebuilt vacuum advance unit from Andy Bernbaum and got my Autolite IGS distributor working correctly again and the engine is running better than it ever has in the past.

I have been playing catch-up and using the coupe as much as possible, I did not realize how much I missed driving her.

That thing is SLICK! Does it have the original or original-style upholstery in it? If it does, could you post a few photos of the interior?

Here is a thread from when I successfully cleaned the original interior with a lot of pictures.

Ok,now I know where I have been going wrong. My judgement when buying old cars obviously sucks. What I should have been doing all along was to get you to pick them out for me.

I can't even begin to imagine finding an original 48 with original 48 upholstery that cleans up that good. Not even ONE piece of duct tape anywhere in sight!

That cleaner Tuff Stuff really is like "magic" in a can, I have been using it for years and can highly recommend it. My friends son just got his first truck and the cloth seats were filthy, with a lot of grease and rust stains. I stopped by with a new can of TS and a couple of old towels, I showed him the procedure and did the drivers bucket for him which was the dirtiest seat. It came out like brand new and I got to show a 16yr old that he did not know "everything", he actually smiled.
