Dodgeb4ya
Can anyone ID this odd truck 3 speed? Looks to be Dodge truck. It is a New Process # C88461-cast on top cover. It also has an odd four bolt PTO cover and appears to use a Fluid Drive input shaft?
Jeff Balazs
Sorry no real help with the iD on this. Maybe something from a special order civilian Powerwagon? Am curious though about the diameter of that spline section on the input. Jeff
Dodgeb4ya
I will measure that input shaft... I think it's a 1-1/4".
Phil363
New Process 3 Speed column shift transmissions were in the Dodge B-2, B-3- B-4 series 1/2 ton thru 1 ton vehicles according to my shop manual. The top of my transmission has the same number (C88461) on top as yours. However, the body of the transmission is different. In my shop manual all the transmissions that have that power take-off plate on the bottom of the transmission are either a 4-speed or 5-speed transmission. They are all also shown as being floor shifted. Phil Edited June 9, 2016 by Phil363
Merle Coggins
Probably for a B2 or B3 truck with FD. I wasn't aware that PTO's were available on the 3 speeds.
Dodgeb4ya
The 4 bolt PTO cover is whats confusing. I have a couple regular 1/2-1 ton 3 speeds. None have the odd 4 bolt PTO. Maybe it's for the small DU route van?
