I took Rt 17 West up, then came back via old Rt 17, stopped in Livingston Manor to cross the Van Tran covered bridge that was built in 1865. During the summer of 1993 we had a spell of heavy rain, this boulder came sliding down the mountain side. This place looks like a very nice place to live and burn up the roads in an old car. I will take a trip one day in my 48 Plymouth when I have the time and the money to get away but down here in the Gulf coast we haven't got many country roads with that kind of beauty to take in. 1940plymouth Posted April 1, 2016 Author Report Share Posted April 1, 2016 Larry. I have a rebuilt 1950 Plymouth engine in it. When we got it in 1988 it had a 1941 Plymouth engine, which finally gave up the ghost a few years ago. I have done body work to her and my son painted her 16 years ago. She is basically stock other than the tires and wheels The paint we used was Rustoleum Teal, and over the course of the past 16 years the paint has aged well and I love the Patina that it now has, along with the scratches and dulled paint. We have coffee and kick tires 'bout once a week. We live in So Cal's urban sprawl. But for those who think So Cal is all concrete, traffic and smog, this is what you get by going the back way at 8:30 Monday morning, It's just three miles from my house and less than two miles from I-5 - - - The canopy was because of the liquid sunshine!
