I have beat my brains out trying to get my 50 Dodge with gyromatic to run decent. Monday I put a news set of plug wires on it. It has not started and ran this good in all the time I"ve had it. Touch the starter and it is running not a miss to be heard.

congrats on getting it running good. did it have the carbon wires on it? new solid core will make that much difference. I just bought a new set of points for my flattie. very disappointed in how cheaply made they are. almost afraid to install them. they are from advance, and I am not knocking the store, but are any other brands any better or mostly all the same. they are made in mexico. I guess asking for something made in USA is out of the question.    capt den

B est to try to find the good old Autolite original points condensors, rotors and cap or any of the good old replacement parts that were made in the US durin g the time your car was made.

This is why having the Autolite catalogs and other reference catalogs to cross reference the parts is now so important.  Yes the older stuff is getting harder to find and the prices are going up  so advise is to start getting those spares now when you still can get them and avoid the  crap replacement parts.

I have numerous cross reference catalogs to look up what fits our older Mopar cars and truck.
