Loving my old DeSlowto- Still some little troubles-

The 2 check balls can be working OK and even with a new accelerator pump still no strong flowing squirt.

The accelerator pump jet can be clogged up too.

You can access it by removing a 3/8" diameter aluminum plug on the side of the main body. Use a very fine strand of soft wire to make sure it is open.

Or you can also remove this jet carefully with the correct size screw driver to inspect the jet better.

Ok, I got the new plunger and after soaking it in gasoline as per the instructions, I just checked it for fit in the chamber and it gave a big squirt. Got everything buttoned back up and it accelerates perfectly now. Thanks again for the help guys!

I noticed also that in the instructions  with the NAPA accelerator pump it says to soak the leather in gasoline and to spread the lip slightly with the tip of a screwdriver . I had never heard of this method before , it was always soak in oil . Anyway , good job .

a new unworn and pliable leather cup would be idea to soak in gasoline...but given an older used unit that has been sitting dry and compressed within the confines of the pump chamber...I will use the oil to make the leather supple
