Anyone have a piece of junk 802 Radio for the Pilothouse or for the 48 Plymouth? I say piece of junk because all I need is the case and the front with the push buttons and glass.

I have a Radio from a K-car and I think that I can gut that and add it into the regular radio case to create a functional radio. The only problem that I have is the display and the function buttons because they are way too large. I'm thinking that I can hide that part and cable it remotly.

I priced out a radio at French Lake Junque Botique yesterday but $60 was too much for my purpose.

I usually see one of these at back to the 50s swap. Send me a PM with your price range.

I think I may have spotted you leaving. We were driving buy on snelling in my dads 51 convert(he let me drive it!) Anyway I got the guys # who had 3-4 of them sitting there.

Yep, I noticed that Blue convertible. I never noticed any Mopar radios, but then I did a pretty quick walk through of the swap meet.

I think I have a source for what I'm looking for already.

That car show was mind boggling, way too much to take in. But I sure liked the vendor arrangements behind the cars.

Dennis, I have one that came with my truck. The previous owner had passed away, so I don't know the story on it. It looks very good, but I can't say if it works, since it was never installed. Missing one of the knobs, otherwise looks beautiful.

I'm going 12V, so I will be installing a newer model. I bought a glovebox door to use as a mounting plate, and will install it where the stock radio goes, only horizontal.

Be patient, if my plan works I'll be installing the guts from a 12v radio (from a K Car) I think it will be pretty simple and I'll document the process.

Dennis, I'm going with the horizontal arrangement. I bought a Pioneer head unit, bought an extra glovebox door on eBay, and took the chrome bezel off another B-series instrument cluster. The glovebox door fits right where the stock radio was, and the Pioneer stereo fits right behind the chrome bezel. The knobs for my A/C will mount right below it. Just like the arrangement to the right of the steering wheel, if you can visualize what I'm talking about.

What I meant was, you could have the 802 that I will not be using. If you don't need it, I have already been asked by another forum member.

I will get a radio from another forum member for the price of the mail. So pass yours on, thanks
