Hello.  My name is John Van Oostenbrugge from Lethbridge AB Canada.  I sent an email to one of the administrators a while back asking if I could send him some pics of some 50 Dodge truck sheet metal for sale for a friend of mine.  He told me best way was to register as a member, then post the stuff.

I am not building this truck myself, and I know it is highly frowned upon to come onto a site merely to sell something.  However, the friend I have is getting older, and will not get to this project and has it for sale, and he has some sheet metal that is very very nice, that we don't want to go to the scrap yard one day.  Having said that, I would like to offer this stuff on your site in your classified section and hopefully it will be seen in a positive way.

I am getting nothing from this.  I will not see a red cent of the proceeds.  I am a semi retired trucker and dispatcher, who is now doing some metal shaping in my semi retirement.  I have rebuilt most of my friends 31 Hudson car sheet metal, and I am doing this as a favour to him, as he doesn't do much computer stuff.

If you don't want me to do this, then let me know right away, as I will be heading right to the classified section.

I do think someone on this site will benefit from this.  Thank you.

on the brown banner top of this forum page is the link to classifieds...click there and then post what you have for sale, location and asking price....state if for local pick up or if shipping will be considered at buyers expense...

JVO, you can tell us about yourself, as you have done, and what you're up to.   I suppose you can hint vaguely at a classified entry, and then put the real meat in the classified section.  My guess.  Sometimes it's a fine line for a moderator to draw.

Oh, welcome to the forum.

Welcome...............I for one am not bothered by the posting of the sheet metal items for sale in the classifieds.

Especially since you had checked with the moderator, and explained the situation.

I don't think there is anything wrong with joining a forum just to sell parts. If it will benefit someone (whether it be the seller, buyer, or both), great. Buyer beware though. I've joined OT forums specifically for that reason.

welcome!  If you need help posting the parts for sale in the "Classifieds" section let me know and I will see what I can do to make things go smoothly.

Thanks for the kind replies.  You just never know what the future will bring.  I might be around here more than I think I might.  My brother is looking for a Mopar coupe to build.  We looked at a 36 Plymouth coupe last weekend.  He wants to build something other than a Chevy or Ford, like everyone else does.  He hasn't found the right fit for him yet,  but you never know what might turn up.

A little bit more about myself……. I am now semi retired, and I do metal shaping for grocery money.  Not interested in doing anything full time, or getting to where I would need employees.  I chased money most of my life, and it didn't work out for me, so now I am resigned to just making a living and enjoying myself for as long as I am able.

I won't bore anyone with my Ford projects, but I just might be able to do some work on my brother's stuff when he picks the right project.  He purchased a 47 Dodge couple last summer that is a driver, but is looking for an earlier coupe to put an early hemi into.  We'll see when the time comes. Again, thanks for the kind words.
