Don Coatney Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 There appears to have been a lot of customs built in the 50's that are still out there. This one pictured below is mostly Plymouth. This car was built by the father of these young ladies. I was in contact with them several years back and this car now sports the gearshift knob from my car. 1 Quote
1940plymouth Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Don that is a great looking car, I wonder if it is still owned by those two girls and still in running condition? Quote
Niel Hoback Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 I'm bettin that there is a Hudson, or used to be, anyway. Quote
TrampSteer Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 (edited) That's probably a Woodill Wildfire. Los Angeles car dealer who made 15 and about 300 kits. Pretty rare if it is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woodill_Wildfire http://www.american-automobiles.com/Woodill-Wildfire.html Edited October 13, 2014 by TrampSteer 1 Quote
mrwrstory Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 (edited) I agree, Woodhill Wildfire but with custom headlights and grill. Too bad, was better looking w/o the "custom" touches. Edited October 13, 2014 by mrwrstory 2 Quote
austinsailor Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 If you read the links you'll find that they put in many different variations, chances are the factory installed them. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 Clearly a sectioned 1942 Hudson. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 (edited) Looks like they sort of patterned the overall look of the originally posted mystery car after a Jaguar roadster of the day. Edited October 13, 2014 by BobT-47P15 1 Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 Here's another roadster, similar to the one Don posted............made from two 46 Hudsons............done in my home town at the end of the 1940s. Quote
greg g Posted October 15, 2014 Report Posted October 15, 2014 Glasspar the boat manufacturer dabbled in fiberglass car bodies late fifty's to mid sixties. They made the wildfire body for Woodhull along with several other mga/100 series jaguar styled bodies. Quote
