48ply1stcar Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 It appears from the parts manual on page 174, that the "pick-up tube" screws into the block. I am replacing the 230 oil pan with a 218 oil pan and re-locating the oil pick-up tube. Hopfully I can either move the current tube or swap the tube from the 218. Has anyone removed the a Oil Pick-up tube? Quote
Young Ed Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 Yes they all screw into the same spot they just have different bends to get them into the bottom of the pan. Just swap the one that matches. Quote

Just swap the one that matches. I think the same as ED. The diff. is front vs. rear sump of the pan. Mostly truck app. vs. car app. . 218/230 ci. is not the problem as parts for both hook to the same in block fittings. Pan type determines which oil tubes and pickups to use to get the pickup located properly in the pan and clear the sump. Easy to change to match sump type as long as some idiot did not think the must be torqued to 100 pounds and loctite used as I did! DJ Quote
