Hey Guys, As I am A lazy Cuss, I know one of you (Tim Adams ) can tell me what is the width of my stock rear end in my 1950 business coupe. I can't crawl under there to see, so I am counting on you guys. I think I read here once that it was 51 inches from backing plate to backing plate. Tony C

Well, in those pants it looks a lot bigger than it should...........Oh wait this was a car question, sombody else will need to chime in as 49-52 are conspicuous by their absence on the chart I have.

Tony,

IMHO if you are, in you're own words, "too lazy to crawl under under the car to measure it", who are you going to pay to measure it for you? And why? And what? And from any particular common points to which we each might relate? If you speak of knees are you speaking of a suspension system, and if so suspending what? Will the rear end be "jacked" or "hanging" when the tape is spread?

Nothing personal and all said in in jest, when you post a thread with this title I'm surprised that I'm the first to goad you about it.

Hi Guys, The donor car was a volare, I don't know what year, but it was a r=Richard Petty Edition. Ranroid you weren't the first to goad me, Greg kind of hinted at what size pants I wore. The goading is what makes this forum fun. Tony C

Should have gotten the E58 360 engine from the Petty "kit car" as they call it....I have a 318 Volare here at the house behind the barn for future donor for the 48 Plymouth..have not decoded the rear gear though...hoping for about 2.72 to 2.94 ratio...
