hendo0601 Posted May 2, 2014 Report Posted May 2, 2014 Now the problem is going to be getting him off of that couch/back seat and get the front seat done! It looks fantastic! If I tried that there would be lots of little blood stains everywhere from sewing my fingers to the material... Quote
mrbobs48 Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 (edited) I had upholstery in high school back in the day. Many years ago, it all came back. Bought a industrial sewing machine 6 years ago and do all my own stuff now. Did you notice I added extra pleats in the seat back. Whoops forget to remove the chalk marks. Joe Flanagan Posted May 3, 2014 Author Report Posted May 3, 2014 I drew the line at pleats. I really wanted them but the sewing machine had trouble dealing with the extra thickness and I got fed up with it. So, no pleats. Yours look really nice, though. Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted May 25, 2014 Author Report Posted May 25, 2014 I'm finally done. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I can finally turn my attention to mechanical things. This car isn't too far away from its maiden voyage. Anyway, here are some pics of the interior with a few other shots thrown in: Quote
Jim Yergin Posted May 25, 2014 Report Posted May 25, 2014 Looks great Joe. Are you going to make it to Sully? Jim Yergin Quote
RobertKB Posted May 25, 2014 Report Posted May 25, 2014 You are going to be riding in style!! Nice job. Quote
Johnny S Posted May 25, 2014 Report Posted May 25, 2014 Very nice Joe .... I'll need a ride one of these days !! Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted May 25, 2014 Author Report Posted May 25, 2014 If you ever find yourself out this way, John, we'll go for a ride. Jim, isn't Sully on Father's Day? I doubt I'll be ready by then but I could always come out in my 56 Chevy pickup. Quote
Jim Yergin Posted May 26, 2014 Report Posted May 26, 2014 Joe, Yes it is on Father's Day, June 15. Hope you can make it. Rodney is usually there. I will be in the woodie section. Hope you can make it. Jim Yergin Quote
Adrian41D-19 Posted May 26, 2014 Report Posted May 26, 2014 very nice finish on the front seat !! i love this green for a car ! Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted May 26, 2014 Author Report Posted May 26, 2014 Thanks. It was green originally but a darker green. I think my next project is to fill the master cylinder and see what the brakes do. Quote
DJ194950 Posted May 26, 2014 Report Posted May 26, 2014 Joe, I was thinking it was time to change the pic for your avatar, but then looking again it's a testament to your work and patience overs years of work. It really shows how far you're come! Great work, front to back. Inside and out. Still you work at the perfection slowly. I could not wait to drive it and I'd work day and night for that first drive. Expect that you get that first drive soon! DJ Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted May 27, 2014 Author Report Posted May 27, 2014 Thanks, DJ. I've been meaning to change the picture but haven't gotten around to it. It's really beginning to look like the first ride is going to be this summer. Here's what I have left: Blast and paint front and rear gravel shields. Install rear window. Fill MC and bleed brakes. Rebuild U-joints and install drive shaft. Install bumpers. Install back fenders. Cover and install front door interior handles. And that's about it. Quote
