rearview Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Alrighty... I'm going to whip a dead horse. I've searched here, HAMB, and other places. I'm looking for linkage on one of our flatheads for DUAL HOLLEY 94's.... The linkage will be on the passenger side, moving front to rear. I'm thinking that begging/stealing/fabricating a second bellcrank will get it done. Any other ideas? Pics?? Thanks Quote
greg g Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Don't know if this will help if you are runing on the passenger side. Check the vintage speed website he sells an offenhouser package that you might be abble to modify for your needs. Or call langdons stovebolt. Tom has a lot of stuff for inline applications and is quite helpful. http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~partsort http://www.stoveboltengineco.com/ Quote
rearview Posted June 5, 2007 Author Report Posted June 5, 2007 I **could** put the linkage on the driver's side of the carbs, but it might get close due to the carb-connecting linkage is there. I wish it could pull sideways like the pic above. Quote
Suddensix Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Contact George Asche, I think that he has a proper set-up. His phone # is 814-354-2621. Quote
rearview Posted June 6, 2007 Author Report Posted June 6, 2007 I'll have to give him a call in the morning. I swear I must be a glutton for punishment. "Honest... I'll leave it stock... it'll be a summer driver" Quote
Normspeed Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 If you found or created a couple of adaptors that rotated the Holleys 90 degrees, you could use a side pull linkage like in the photo. Quote
martybose Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 Well, this woudn't exactly be a cheap solution, but you could buy my complete setup for Stromberg 97's and use your carbs. It's a welded up and remachined Offenhauser manifold. The entire setup, from manifold to air cleaners, including every piece of the throttle linkage system and the entire fuel system from fuel pump to hard lines, is sitting in my garage. I'm now using an Edmunds manifold with Carter-Webers on it. Marty Quote
claybill Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 yo!!! make a rod that looks like a Z and run it thru a tube along top of engine (against firewall). hook one end to your gas pedal rod...and the other to an actuating rod to carburetors.... do i have your problem right? or way off base... seems i saw this setup on the trucks or something.. bill Quote
rearview Posted June 6, 2007 Author Report Posted June 6, 2007 Hmmmm.... I think I get what you're saying. That just may work (scratching head). Thanks!! Quote
Young Ed Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 That is sorta how the trucks work. You can see my gas pedal rod on the left of the bellhousing and then the little bracket where the piece up to the carb goes on the right of the engine. Quote
rearview Posted June 6, 2007 Author Report Posted June 6, 2007 I bet that would work. Now all I gotta do is dig out the welder. Quote
Young Ed Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 You get to the metro of the twin cities ever? I've got a slightly bentup one of those throttle pieces that might work for your mods. Quote
rearview Posted June 6, 2007 Author Report Posted June 6, 2007 My wife's sister lives in the Twins... so no... I never get up there I can give you my UPS account number if that's ok?? Quote
claybill Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 figure out where your gas pedal rod exits firewall...make a 'z' shaped rod that goes from the end of it to the passenger side..(either on top of motor or down on bell housing)..then make an actuating rod that goes to arm on carb. bill Quote
rearview Posted June 6, 2007 Author Report Posted June 6, 2007 Another great idea... Will let you all know how this turns out. Quote
