48Dodger
With the help of my local friends, I'm starting an informal truck club called: "The Vintage Dodge Truck Club" OR 1st logo (club name) "The Vintage Truck Club" 2nd logo (brand) "Dodge Owner" or "Chevy Owner"..etc... A couple working titles really. What I'd like to do, as you can see, is include other makes too. My personal focus would be Dodges, but that doesn't mean I can't hang with the others. Its an idea that has been floating around for awhile. My hope is its more of a diners type club, where we can hang out, without all the formal politics. I want a jacket, a logo, and a place to hang with my truck friends, that's it. I don't care if its at a car show, parade or burger king. I have a list of guys close by where I live who have wanted to do this for awhile, and I hope it works out. But also, since there isnt a plan to make rules, and say you don't live close.....I'm all for saying you're in the club if you wanna get the jacket etc. Its all for fun. Let me know if you like the idea, which name you like better, and maybe get this off the ground. If you've had personal experiences with this type of club, and have any stories to tell...im listening. This is in the announcements, so the thread will disappear after awhile. 48D

Jim Shepard
How 'bout "Big Valley Vintage Truck Club?" That kind of gives it some locality (Sacramento to Bakersfield) and restricts it to "old" iron. We can specify the minimum age in club rules/regulations (if we want to get that formal). Personally, I would favor mid-20's to mid-50's... Another option for a name would be something like the clubs back in the day did, e.g., "Gear Grinders," "Shifters," etc. Personally, I like "Rusty Nutz." What is the geographical extent of "The Big Valley"? Seems like it ought to be from maybe Redding up north to Bakersfield down south. Otherwise why not use Sacramento Valley (northern part) or San Joaquin Valley (southern part)? Of course any mention of The Big Valley brings this to mind for me: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Big_Valley
DJ194950
There is "town" in Ca. named Big Valley in Lassen Co., plus two other "communites by that name. Central Vally = Sacramento Valley, S. J. Valley, and Tulare Valley according to an 1873 map of Ca. U.S.G.S. says= Sac. Valley, S.Q. valley, S.Q.-Sac. delta. ? Central Valley= Redding to Tehachapi Mts. All names exclude the S.F. bay area. How to include them in the name? Central Ca.? Best to luck with the club!
