Young Ed Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 I had to go back and rewatch that video and sure enough it does have a v12! Quote
Don Coatney Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 In the Commander Cody song he says got 8 cylinders and use them all but Ryan says 12? Quote
RobertKB Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 Really a hot rod Model A with a Lincoln V12. Although interesting, doesn't do a whole lot for me. Quote
BigDaddyO Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 (edited) The song "The Hot Rod Race" by Arkie Shibley and the Mountain Dew Boys was the first of at least 5 'parts' of an on going saga, if you will about hot rodding. Then Charley Ryan wrote and performed "Hot Rod Lincoln" which is the one everybody's heard albeit in the variation done by Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airman, the biggest difference being the 12 cylinder engine vs the 8 cylinder. I made a CD with probably 15 or more versions of "The Hot Rod Lincoln" done by various artists including Jim Varney and Johnny Cash. My favorite version is by Bill Kirchen.
