Jeff Balazs Posted November 18, 2013 Report Posted November 18, 2013 Hank; Roger that ....... I think. Perfect is not possible if the thread form has been changed or damaged. And it sure sounds that way to me. Finding a replacement throttle body that hasn't been buggered up may be a better long term fix? Jeff Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted November 18, 2013 Report Posted November 18, 2013 (edited) I second that question above. Never have seen that special tubing setup. You need to use the factory type 1/8" inverted flare fitting as shown in Scruffy's photo. Use a 1/8" pipe tap to lightly clean up the threads in the throttle plate base if necessary. Do not use your brass ferrule. That will not work. Bob Edited November 18, 2013 by Dodgeb4ya Quote
ggdad1951 Posted November 18, 2013 Report Posted November 18, 2013 that brass ferrule could eventually cut thru and you'll have problems again. Quote
HanksB3B Posted November 18, 2013 Author Report Posted November 18, 2013 (edited) I have another throttle body (thanks Keven) and will take everyone's advice and get back to that after my gas tank is back in, my fuel gauge is working ((canj't find a float without buying a complete fuel sending unit, (looks like a junk yard trip is in order)) UPS delivers my copper/nickel/iron fuel line, my flex hose to fuel pump is in, and fuel pump to carburetor hard line is in. I know my trucks going to run great despite the dream I had the other night that the head was just sort of floating above the block while the engine was running and all the head bolts were broken. I think I have some form of PTSD more like Post Tramatic Pilothouse Rebuild Disorder. PTPRD ? I thought I finished my truck, Hank Edited November 18, 2013 by HanksB3B Quote
