THRobinson Posted September 15, 2013 Report Posted September 15, 2013 I have a starter for my '47 Dodge, was in the trunk when I bought it (maybe that's why it didn't start). Anyways... looking to bolt it back up, and realized that there are no bolts. Anyone happen to know the size/thread I'd need? Thanks. Quote
_shel_ny Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 (edited) 3/8-16 X 3/4 to maybe 1" Edited April 17, 2014 by shel_ny Quote
THRobinson Posted April 17, 2014 Author Report Posted April 17, 2014 Excellent, thanks... Snow here is finally melting, need to start gathering some supplies. I bought a shop manual, but can't seem to find sizes just locations. Though, from what I'm reading I may be missing a few parts... Quote
_shel_ny Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 Bolts could be longer. Lots of room behind the mounting area. Quote
Jim Yergin Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 For my '41 Plymouth I find that very often the bolt sizes are listed in the parts manual not the shop manual. Jim Yergin Quote
Jerry Roberts Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 3/8 inch diameter ? That sounds very small for a starter . I could be wrong though . Quote
TodFitch Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 3/8 inch diameter ? That sounds very small for a starter . I could be wrong though . Actually, that sounds about right to me. For my '41 Plymouth I find that very often the bolt sizes are listed in the parts manual not the shop manual. Jim Yergin Definitely! Quote
THRobinson Posted May 24, 2014 Author Report Posted May 24, 2014 Well, may have found them... got them soaking in some vinegar right now to remove some rust but look to be the right size. Quote
