Well guys James had it pegged. The new clutch disc I got from Andy Bernbaums didn't have the right "marcel" or waves James was talking about. The fiber was a lot thinner and it had almost no marcel. The old disc had .050 cup in the waves which allows the clutch disc to spring, inturn release smoooooother. After talking with some old clutch guys,The newer cars don't have as much marcel so these new disc are built with the right diameter and splines but wrong waves and wrong thickness. It's best to have your old disc rebuilt in this case. Thanks for all the help guys.

Well guys James had it pegged. .

I have learned that even though James sometimes goes off on a tangent that it is wise to listen to what he has to say:D He digs a bit deeper than most folks and looks at things a bit differently but he is most times correct. Except when he goes off on a tangent. Then it is necessary to smack him around a bit:cool:

Interesting...

I have driven a few pre-Depression-Era vehicles that had solid clutch discs ( no damper springs around the hub, no flexy-disc)... the clutch is either "In", or it's "Out"... if you try to gently slip the clutch to get the vehicle under way, you get "bunny-hops" !

Wonder why the newer discs don't chatter in newer cars ?
