FMSPEED49 Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 Anybody know where to get a new cable, or better yet cross one over, checked with Andy Bernbaum, but 70.00 seems a little steep to me. Quote
FMSPEED49 Posted November 5, 2006 Author Report Posted November 5, 2006 opps , sorry , for a '49 Wayfarer. Quote
greg g Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 You might be able to keep the armour and replace the cable from Hardware stock. Just cut to lenght and have the hardware swedge on some of those compression cable stop thingies. Quote
FMSPEED49 Posted November 5, 2006 Author Report Posted November 5, 2006 it's all shot, looks like they routed it wrong, and its pretty trashed. Quote
49roadster Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 Where ever you get one be sure it is to replace part # 1138953 NOT part # 1138949. The Wayfarer uses a shorter cable. Quote
FMSPEED49 Posted November 6, 2006 Author Report Posted November 6, 2006 ah, i suspect that is what happened to this one, thing was way too long. thanks Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 I would keep an eye on E-Bay as that is where I bought mine. What is the length of your old one? I think I still have my old one but its needs the cable, the old one is still inside it. It was frayed and I used the very small cable clamps to cut out the fray part and have a smooth cable. Let me know and maybe we can come up with a deal. What is the lenght for cable housing? Quote
mopars4fun Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 I saw one for a 1946 48 mopar on ebay. Carlton Quote
PatS.... Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 I won't be reusing the one removed from my '49 Chrysler. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. It's available, if interested pm me. Quote
