Just got back from the show. I thought several times about backing out and just figured it's only water. The wife and I went anyway with the convertible. Even though it rained, I believe we all had a great time. It cleared up around 11ish and several cars showed up including a few that are from this forum. Several Plymouths and three Desotos were in attendance. Several other cars were there with a few trickling in here and there. I was surprised to see that so many folks didn't let the rain keep them away from a good time. It was nice to put some faces with the forum names. I took some pictures and I'll see if I can post them. Don took some pictures also. Not sure when he will find the time to post them.

My dad and I had a good time. It was nice to meet some of the forum members. Too bad the rain and cool weather had to show up today, but you can't pick the weather. We put just over 200 miles on the 41 Desoto, and it ran great. I'm guessing we got around 16-17 mpg. Here are a few pictures of some of the mopars at the show.

Oh course that B series truck had to come in after we left! I saw it driving on a side street on our way out. I would have liked to see it. I still can't get over the amount of flat head powered mopars that were there for a smaller car show like that.

Thanks for the good pictures.  Sometimes the darn weather just does not cooperate the best.  (Guess that's why they put

windshield wipers on cars.)

Speaking of wipers.........I went to the street rod regional meet at Springfield, MO last Friday.  Talked with a fellow from

Illinois who drove a P15 coupe (with a 318 and 12V electrical system).  He said he installed a Newport Engineering

electric wiper motor - that it fit handily and only required re-attaching the original wiper arms to the new motor.  Did

not have to remove or relocate anything.

Then I discovered later in the day that Newport Engineering had a booth in the vendor building.  I asked if they made a

6 volt motor...........they do NOT.........but said you can use a power inverter if it has a 6 amp capacity and run it off 6V.

Thought I would add this info, although it has nothing to do with that nice show..........since people are always looking

for an electric motor for wipers.

P.S.  Don........have you considered that it may be time for a new camera?

I got one that uses the small photo cards (sandisk) and it sure is handy.  I bought a Kodak

card reader that plugs into the computer and accommodates 3 different size cards.  Think it

came from Walgreens.

Nice to see that you and the other guys had a good time at the show.

Always fun to make new acquaintances in the old car world.

I certainly enjoyed meeting some forum members and was very impressed with their Mopars...Saw more Desotos at this show than I have seen in the past 5 years combined

Not sure! He wasn't from our group. It showed up just after most of the forum members left. That's the deal with that show. You never know what or when something will show up.

Thanks for sharing.

Who owns the '40 convertible?

It was a cool truck! My son, Reece, liked the ideas incorporated into it. I took a few more pictures of it. I'll see if I can post them too. I should have taken a picture of the interior because it was creative. they used a seed sack for the center of the seat. He also integrated wood rulers into the bedsides.

I wished I had a good set of wipers that day, or for that matter...any wiping action.

Here are a few more pictures. This black Crashler was powered by a shiverlay 6 banger. I spoke with the owner and was told the original engine failed and he had this engine sitting around so he stuck it in along with a slush box.
