JIPJOBXX Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 I'm still working on my brakes in order to get them to stop better. I had a passing thought has anyone here put chalk on the brakes shoes to see what kind of impression they leave on there brake drums? Or is there any other type of transferring material that can be used? I just want to check the arc contact. And what kind of contact should I get if I do go through this process? Should it be 100% or what? Thanks Quote
P15-D24 Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) Really better off getting a tool to measure the arc like one of the ammaco tools or a home build version of one. Than way you can measure and adjust at the same time. Clearances are actually are pretty close. I'm out of town right now and don't have access to the factory manual but I'm sure another member will look them up and post them. (and I will add it to the Brakes technical article) Edited April 20, 2013 by P15-D24 Quote
