1940plymouth Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 Can anyone tell me what make and year this car is, I zoomed in, but still not sure Thanks, Bob Quote
RobertKB Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) Not sure what it is but that is a great picture. Thanks for posting. Both the house and car look like they have seen better days and are ready for spring and rejuvenation. Edited February 10, 2013 by RobertKB Quote
pflaming Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 I'm thinking its' a 38-41 Oldsmobile. The 'icon' at the top of the grill looks like an Olds. But not sure either. Great pic, I put it on my screensaver. Quote
1940plymouth Posted February 10, 2013 Author Report Posted February 10, 2013 RobertKB, the photo was taken by a friend of mine who is also a cancer survivor. She lives in Alberta. It is a great photo isn't. pflaming, I also have it as a screen saver I am thinking GM also, but wasn't sure of the make or year. I had thought maybe '39 Chevrolet Thanks for the comments Quote
Niel Hoback Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 I think its a '39 chevy with aftermarket sealed beam headlights. It is a great picture. Quote
Robert Horne Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 Nice Bob, That would be a good photo to print and hang on the garage wall.... 1 Quote
1940plymouth Posted February 11, 2013 Author Report Posted February 11, 2013 Robert, instead of garage art, I have ordered two coffee cups with the picture on it, one for her and one for me Quote
RobertKB Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) Alberta, that is my neck of the woods. Can you be a bit more specific on location as that could be anywhere in the province really. I am glad your friend here is a survivor just as you are. Hopefully, one day the car and house can both be preserved. Edited February 11, 2013 by RobertKB Quote
55 Fargo Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 Looks like a 38/39 Chev, 40 was a style change again... Quote
40plyrod Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 Beautiful picture using it as a screen saver too. Quote
Uncle-Pekka Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 It is surely not 1939 Chevrolet, the grille was way more sharp nose and hood also much more pointy. It could be 1938 Chevy, but most likely it is a 1937 pontiac Silver Streak, same nose as the wreck below. Quote
Don Jordan Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 I'd like to add to everyone else's opinion - it's a truly great photograph. Suitable for the calendar. Also I have to concur - It is GM. Quote
