Plymouthy Adams Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 who had the answers... basically (at least to me at first glance) these wheels do look the same..the opening design etc ..except..there are wheels eith different numbers of spoke out there... Anyone happen to know off hand what years go with each wheel....are there truck models of one spoke count and the cars are of the other.. I have a couple of 16 inch wheels here....they need a good home... Quote
moose Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 Do they look anything like this? These are (I believe) from a 36 Plymouth. At least they matched Rebecca's wheels. What kinda shape are they in? Two of mine are rusted and cracked and I have been wanting some replacements. I'm interested. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 17, 2013 Author Report Posted January 17, 2013 Moose...spoke count..this was the entire reason for the post..seems spoke counts are diffferent from year to year or truck/car....I have no clue as the exact year and was hoping to pin this down and maybe even get a bit more information out to the readers..I have seen others and for all intent they are identical..would be hard to notice the spoke count difference at casual glance... the units I have here I would sandblast..they appear solid and straight..as I said spoke count is the key...your pictures hows 11 spokes, these I have on hand are 10 spokes..probably not what you want... moose Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 Tim, I just went and counted. The wheels on the rear have 12 spokes, and the ones on the front have 10! I never even noticed the difference! The 10 spokers in the front are the ones I need to replace. I'm still interested if they are in better shape than what I've got. The air stem holes on mine were all rusted and wider than they needed to be, and one of them had a crack between two of the bolt holes. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 17, 2013 Author Report Posted January 17, 2013 told ya !!!!!..at first glance it is not that noticable of a difference..the shape of the hole between the spokes on the Moapr cars all seem identical thus lend to the the blending in on a mismatch..I had seen the 12's and knew of the 10 andyour 11's are yet another count...somewhere there is a knowledgable person who has the application facts down pat It is raining out for now and I will go later and inspect the wheels..they are still on the 2 door sedan for now...I believe they would be good candiates to replace your questionable ones but please give me a bit of time for the weather to break to be sure..will have to get down on the ground to get a good look see... so we have now... 10 spokes, 11 spokes and 12 spoke wheels..I know the guy who inquired of mine before was looking for 12 spokers for his hump back panel.. moose Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 Maybe the picture is misleading, but I counted them in person and have got 2-12 spokers and 2-10 spokers. I don't want to confuse the issue of finding info on these wheels. Quote
desoto1939 Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 I started to look at some factory advertisements on the Bay 36 Desoto had 12 spoke metal wheel with the scallop effect the 36 Dodge had 14 spoke metal wheel with the scalloped effect Rich Hartung Quote
