Don Coatney Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 did you do a search before posting? http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=34894&highlight=Gangster Quote
47heaven Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 That's cool to know, Grady! I was supposed to go see it with some other friends in their vintage cars at this drive in tonight, but I'm kinda coming down with a cold, and it's going to be in the upper 30's tonight, so I refrained from going, plus my car isn't ready. Probably the reason they used a lot of D-24s and P-15s is because most of the Chevys and Fords from that era are either hot rodded, chopped, or lowriders. Quote
oldodge41 Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 I searched "Gangster Squad" and received 3 results. I then searched "Search Function" and received 126 results. Obvious to me which is overdone.:D:D Quote
grady hawkins Posted January 13, 2013 Author Report Posted January 13, 2013 No Don I did not do a search I only saw it last night Quote

Darin, take some Tylenol or Advil Cold medicine and get yourself to the drive-in, 30s is nothing. You know what I woke up to, Blizzard last night, temp -2, windchill this morning was -20, and I had to get the snowblower out and do the entire driveway parking areas. My driveway is 180 feet long, although the snow was deep only in some areas, it was blown and packed so hard my 200lb plus body could walk right over it. I had to break the snow with a shovel as a ran the blower, as it could not break it up, spent 6 hours outside, the wind stopped, the sun came out, 4f, and I felt warm. I then fired up 55 Fargo and had a drive, heater works well, but have no defrost hose to defrosters, so windshield got some frost on it, like the side and back windows. You know what we ued to use here, frost shields on side and rear windows. my modern vehicles don't have frosty windows anymore, they are good and warm, with no frost on the windows, modern marvels. So have fun, enjoy the movie.... ps Sorry Grady did not mean to hijack the thread Quote
T120 Posted January 13, 2013 Report Posted January 13, 2013 So, Grady...Apart from seeing the cars we are fond of on the big screen becoming "stars" - Did you find the movie enjoyable? Quote

Actually, it got down to 31 last night. I have a very good heater on that Plymouth, once the engine heats up, that is. The only problem I get is fogged windows, especially when it's raining, but I've learned how to crack the wind wing just enough to solve that problem. Quote

Yup, that will work;), on Christmas eve in Wifes 2007 Torrent had to crack window a bit, too much frost, not sure why this vehicle does this, probably car full of kids, and all the moisture:rolleyes:.. Southern Cal, folks would surely perish:eek:, even if LA had 1 night of 0 temps, what is your record low, about 2:rolleyes:5.... Spent some time in the past in your stomping grounds, Glendora, Covina, Azusa etc Quote
grady hawkins Posted January 13, 2013 Author Report Posted January 13, 2013 I sure did enjoy the movie plus the cars. A lot of good car chases and in the ending was great! Quote

T120 Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 Saw the movie "Gangster Squad" last night.Story was okay...Caution,kinda violent at times...would have made Sam Peckinpah proud, 'nuff said. The action, the special effects and the period sets were very good.Loved the cars.As far as the central "good guy" characters in this movie - picture Dirty Harry..in a late forties setting in Los Angeles with a handpicked backup team, cleaning up things that needed cleaning, - (surprise... won't tell ya who helped pick the team) .... Anyhow,I ain't a movie critic and I wouldn't recommend anyone else spendin' their hard cash on seeing a movie... However,(IMHO),I would rate this movie as "very good". I didn't feel I was overcharged - and I found it entertaining and well done. Quote
