One last thing I would like to say, the common demoninator of all these shootings is age, they are all young, it's not the weapons that are killing it's the mentality of the people useing them, people are not teaching their kids the right value's, if any. This is a very complex problem, it's not just whipping their asses ( course that wouldn't hurt in many cases) family unit breakdown, no father or authority figure in the home, maybe choosing career over raising their kid's, parents leaving it up to the schools to raise their kid's while they pursue other interests. remember the old TV show's? Ozzie and Harriet, father Knows best, Dennis the Menace, etc. That's the way families and society use to really be, dad worked and mom was at home cooking, cleaning and watching over the kids when they got home from school, IT WORKED GREAT till it took two to make a living. Then throw into the mix the guys that have seven kids with six different women and never marry anyone or support any of them, the mom and dad that want to go to the bar or hang and smoke some reefer while the kids are free to do what they want as long as they don't burn the house down. dang I'm on a rant tonight and I apologize for taking up so much server space, but from where I sit, the problem is so dang obvious, except nobody wants to fess up to what it is cause it's to inconvienient, yep, blame it on the guns, that's the easy and convienient way out, Uh, and if you think I have an agenda, and not that it matters, I don't own one, At least not right now, but in an ironic twist, last Thursday I priced a 223/556 Bushmaster and a 45 at a local gun shop.

I've always thought that many of the NRA position's were way over the top, and I object mightily to their political clout.

But early this year we bought some property in the country, and the seller advised us to get at least a shotgun to deal with the wildlife. So we signed up for introductory shotgun and pistol classes, and it has been interesting. Who would have guessed that my wife would like firing a shotgun, and in the pistol intro class we were shooting the instructor's personal guns, and it was worth the price of admission to watch my daughter when she pulled the trigger on a Dirty Harry-style 44 magnum revolver.

So we already have a locked room that the weapons will be kept in, and trigger locks will be the order of the day. We will all know how to load, unload and clean anything we own, and I will hope that we never need to open that door.

We are losing our culture. It is a sad situation. We are so concerned with being politically correct that we are afraid to speak. We are afraid of offending anyone so everyone must suffer. We have removed God from everything. Whether or not you believe in God I don't think he should be banned for everybody that does.

The prohibition of guns to prevent killings is like outlawing pencils to prevent hate speech.

This is a sad time for all.

It makes me angry that politicians will use this tragedy as an opportunity to push their agendas. I've got 3 kids and I can't even bare to watch any of this on the news. It'd be hard for you to complain about trivial things if after hearing this news you knew your kids were safe. My prayers and condolences to all effected.
