Hood Latch Handle

When I removed the hood from my 49 half ton during the restoration process, I noticed that the hood has two different style handles as shown in the attached photos. You will notice that the handle on the left is narrower and is curved on the end. I assume one is not correct. Could someone who knows the correct style handle for the 49 verify which handle is correct so that I can locate the correct one? Thanks for your help.

The handle in the first photo appears to be correct for your year of truck (as far as I have seen here in Oz). I think that I recall seeing some of the handles in your second photo on older trucks. I use a plastic sleeve on mine to take out the play.

I haven't seen a supplier here in Oz mate. You might try the likes of VPW, Bernbaum's, or Midwest Military over your side of the world.

Just went outside and checked on my original hood 49. Handles are like the first one you show, flattened and flared.
