MoparAl- Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 I know nothing about tube radios but after reading my P15 book i took three radios, played with the vibrators and tubes and got the one in the car to work ! my neighbours must think ive gone mad cos the noise that came from me was second to none, i cant believe something so simple has made me so happy ! Am i mad or have i fallen in luv with these old cars big time ? To top it all i wired up the clock in the car which i'd found in my boxes of spares and it ticked !!!!! more satisfactory hoots from me !!!!! Is this an age thing ? have i lost the plot ? Whatever it is, its lifted my spirits so i felt i had to share my excitement, apologies if u think this limey is cuckoo !!!!!! hahahaha Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 To the outside world, you're eccentric, at best. To those of us here on the forum, you're perfectly normal. Of course you'd yell when you got your tube radio working. Carry on. Quote
RobertKB Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 Good for you! I always think it is nice to get excited like a kid as it shows there is still the "joy of life" in us. Incidentally, in your profile, I see you are from Essex. I am just wondering what part you are from? I have a first cousin who lives in Chelmsford. Quote
MoparAl- Posted October 5, 2012 Author Report Posted October 5, 2012 Hi Robert, im 25min from Chelmsford ! Quote

Niel Hoback Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 MoparAl, the truth is that the rest of the world is just plain jealous of a guy thats having a good time. I wouldn't call you anything but, "MoparAl". Quote
Andydodge Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 Its a wonder you didn't hear me about 12mths ago when I installed a modified brake line spring clip on the 40 dodge glove box lid. It had only been 41 yrs that I have owned the car and no more than 34 yrs that my wife has been complaining that the glove box door was a pain to open.........lol...............it never had a spring on the door when I 1st bought it and it was only from info gained on this forum that I found out about the "glove box door spring".............happy?.............lol............we all have our moments.....lol...........andyd Quote
pflaming Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 Al, don't know how old you are, but I'm 74. I took my engine down to the crank then with Grey Beards help rebuilt it. Had never done something like that before. When that engine fired, I was one happy camper, so like others, we know the feeling. Congradulations, a radio with tubes that works! WOW, PRICELESS! Quote
