Idea for " in the event of an emergency" thread

After reading the "in the event of an emergency thread" the idea of having a list of members. So that other members have a lifeline as they are traveling is a good call. I would gladly donate my time to build this list and keep it updated.

When this list was originally put together, I took the info as PM's or email so that information was not publically displayed. the only time detaisl were released, was as a result of a members request. I sorted the list by general location, NorthEast, South East of the Mississippi, West of Miss, west coast north west cost south, I do not believe much of the list that I have is relevent currently. So you'd probably need to start from scratch.

as I will have more database capability on the new site. Pretty sure I can set it up you would need a log in to get to it the info and you have to be in a "group" of users to be able to access it. (Kind of like moderator privileges) That way those who want to volunteer on the list can have privacy while getting the list is just a internet connection and log in away.

I have no problem doing it. If it was stored on the web only to accessed by user name/password, and is a lockable database. That would work also. I have been breaking the contacts down by state. Although some people including myself are not wild about having our info on a easily accessible database.....tough call.

My thought was if someone need help I am a phone call away and I can give them info for the nearest members.

We now have a nine and one of them is in Canada.

Got our first Christmas present today, our kids in Indiana and Maine, have purchased tickets for us to Indianapolis for New Years. Will be there from the 26 - 6th. Would like to have coffee with members near by. Please PM me if that works. (my back is improving everyday).

Paul, I'll likely be in Indy over Christmas. I'd probably be heading home a day or two after. Maybe we can work out a meeting before I leave there.

I'm still debating if I want to add my info to this list. If GTK gets a secure database setup I might consider it more. I've never hidden my location to this forum. If you know you'll be passing through my neck of the woods feel free to PM me and I'll provide more contact info for you.
