martin67
Hi, I am having trouble with my old race car running rich. Runs three carter BBR-1's I have not had much experience with these carbies and I was wondering what effect dropping the float bowl level slightly would have? Plymouthy Adams
it will lower the fuel available when running out top end..do you have carb sync tool..if not..I doubt you will get it set..you may get close but close is still not good enough with multiple carbs... Don Coatney
What are you using for carburetor air filtration? I found that doubling up the air filters on my dual system corrected the rich running problem.

martin67
Thanks for that info. Without air cleaners it seems much better, so there in lies the problem.
greg g
How about some pictures of your set up??? Are you choke buterlies fully open. where are your accelerator pump linkages set for length of stroke?? I have my dual carbs det for the shortest stroke. Are all your intermediate power valves getting a proper vacuum signal to keep them closed at high vacuum??? If they are not getting their signal from the maifold the spring will hold them open all the time, which will seriously richen your mixture. Also your profile is a bit lacking in iformation regarding your vehicle, You might want to give some though to filling a it of info, or including that info in your header or signature. You can add this by using the user CP editing tools. Thanks. Edited September 30, 2012 by greg g

martin67
Have run out of time getting the car ready for a hillclimb on Sunday, so it will just have to do as it is. I havent long had this car and the middle carb is a bit lower in vaccum, one front brake is a bit slow in coming off, but all in all it is going pretty quick hopefully will keep up with the field or a bit better. Thank you all for your help.
