Thinking about putting an offer on this car. If I got it would use it as a daily driver. It is in good shape but not a show car. Problem is, I would then have to get rid of my Lumina Van because I don't have room for 4 cars. Like my van too, so still thinking about it. This thing is not only a gas hog though, it's a big boat, but is a hardtop with a BIG 440 engine in it, with only 15,000 miles on the clock since rebuild.

That is nice enough..but gonna be a monster to feed....not sure how my 383 is going to do on the road but steps have taken to limit RPM with the 2.72 ratio 8 3/4..hopefully it will be a nice cruiser at moderate RPM..this hog may have a 3.23, if you lucky a 2.94

Tim, that is one reason why I am hesitating a little on making the offer, plus it is really long. Don't know about a 383 MPG but I had a 318 in my 67 Chrysler years ago. That got about 17 to 20 MPG on the highway. I think the 440's only get about 10 to 12 MPG on the highway. I sort of like this Chrysler because it will cruise real nice at highway speeds. Plus, if I later decided to I could pull the running gear and use it in another car, or sell it. The Chrysler is not really as good as it looks on the surface. Needs new rubber in the side windows. Rusted out areas were fixed some time ago but they are just riveted in. Don't see the rivets though. Car was repainted original color after the repairs. Bottom of the front seat needs re padding. You can feel the springs when you sit in it. Plus the A/C unit was removed and thrown away years ago. The car is just a great runner and a 20 footer. Good driver. I would use it a such too, would not try to restore it if I bought it.

Know what you mean about the car..however..buying it to later pull the running gear for something else..well would have to be able to get the car for very little outflow. I have a 440 here at the house that was dyno'd at 463 HP...just a tad much for antyhing I want on the road..but hell of a good trade value. Matter of fact glad I had that engine and tranny here..just found the 727 in the Bigbutt had a bad neutral safety switch...broken internal return spring..so am able to continue the march...sometimes though it is hard to pass on a real good deal...

Norm;

BUY IT! Then at least you can put some miles on an "older" car:D

Dont worry about the cost of gas. Just think of the up-thumbs you will get and the big grin on your face.

Don,

Already plan to use the coupe more this year. Getting nice out now. Problem is, it seems to rain just about every other day. That wouldn't bother me so much but the windshield center bar leaks. Have a new gasket for it but waiting for it to get warmer so it will fit in easier without removing the windshield. It will get some good miles on it this year though. Got the gas gauge working now and that was a big hang up for me before.:D

Don,

I can't speak for Pete, but don't look too hard or long for me in Tulsa.:rolleyes: Won't be there in a modern or old car, or any other way. I will stay home and look at the pictures on TV, magazines and the internet.:D

Get it, Norm!

As Don usually says you only drive in and out of the garage so gas shouldn't be too big a deal.

Brad,

If I bought this one, it wouldn't be kept in the garage anyway. Don't think it would fit unless I removed some things from the back wall. Plus, that would mean the wifes car would have to sit outside. I'm sure you know that's not going to happen.:rolleyes: So........I would not need to burn gas to go in and out of the garage.
