1952gary
Need an answer about gas tanks for our trucks. Are the tank sizes the same from 47 thru 52?
HanksB3B
No. Not sure if you've seen this. Hopefully you are looking for the series of trucks prior to 48-50, 51-53. http://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=349/category_id=68/home_id=59/mode=prod/prd349.htm Good Luck, Hank
48Dodger
yah....that's what I was thinking....you meant to say: 1948 thru 1953. In which case the tanks interchange. 48D

Young Ed
While the 39-47 tanks aren't the same they might be close enough to work. They are lacking the hump on the top that the pilot house trucks use. Have to compare the overall dimensions and see if that is the same. In which case the tanks interchange.48D Yeah, I was thinking along those lines and I had guessed the 48-50 and 51-53 series were identical but wasn't sure so I fudged my answer just a little. Someone should ask tanksinc if they could produce the 48-53 series. Hank
Young Ed
The reproduction tanks have a removable fill neck which could possibly be reworked/replaced to make the same tank work for pilot house trucks. Its also setup with an extra hole for fuel injection setups.
Robert Thornton
I tried to use a tank off a 53 on my 52, the way it mounted to frame was diffrent and would not work had to repair old 52 tank the framing was diffrent on 53.
bach4660
I have a flat top rectangular tank in my '50 that I bought off of a forum member. It did not have the hump like the original but it bolted right in place. On my '48 I have a TanksINC U3 as they did not have the dodge available. It is also a flat top. I haven't missed the hump on either truck.
