old rat 49 Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 Messing arround under the dash and noticed that the drivers side wire on ammeter gets really hot with ignition on (engine running or not). Is this normal ? Quote
TodFitch Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 No. Heat means a bad connection or bad component. Check all your electrical connections in that area, make sure they are tight and that you have star type washers on them to bite through the corrosion and make a good connection. Quote
Adam H P15 D30 Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 An easy way is to try a voltage drop test. Most bad connections can be found that way. Quote
old rat 49 Posted May 13, 2012 Author Report Posted May 13, 2012 Problem was a very dirty connection on that wire even though it was tight. Quote
