Ammeter Hot

Messing arround under the dash and noticed that the drivers side wire on ammeter gets really hot with ignition on (engine running or not). Is this normal ?

No. Heat means a bad connection or bad component. Check all your electrical connections in that area, make sure they are tight and that you have star type washers on them to bite through the corrosion and make a good connection.

An easy way is to try a voltage drop test. Most bad connections can be found that way.

Problem was a very dirty connection on that wire even though it was tight.
