Plymouthy Adams
you right about the cost of certain panels..I guess if this car was to be judged and inspected for originality or exact contours etc etc it would be worth the extra money..but for use as a daily driver, one needs but be solid metal and water tight..you will never see the panels from the interior nor if properly welded and undercaoted will most repairs be noticeable from below. With the basic shapes these panels car the only real need is a half decent insert to make your floors solid and properly shaped. Not every car is worth restoring as most folk like to use the word but many are very open to be rebuilt and made solid without the extra expense of fabricated panel. Each person has to weight their own end use and such as to what level they want to repair a car and consider if it will be worth the cost if sold later..face it..you only going to get X amount either way you do the repair.. Eneto-55
I am truly surprised daily of the old cars still surviving in the great north. Here in the south these cars went to the great crusher as it seems a good flow of cash to those who think a daily job interfers with their hunting and fishing. It doesn't?! I read a book once where a character called "Uncle Charlie" made a statement something to the effect that 'Today is the nice day that you are working to save up money so that maybe someday you'll have enough to be able to take off work to go fishing. So why not just go today?' I know that is not the exact wording, but the general idea. Anybody know what book that was? I think it was in the Reader's Digest condensed books, probably sometime in the 60's. Neto
