hi ,does anyone know if this item is different for a fluid drive 48 new yorker to a non fluid drive model?Birnbaums lists two different sorts but many other vendors simply state there is only one type for all?

thanks in advance for clearing this confusion!

I probably have 1 on a fluid drive unit out in my shed, could check over the next few days and see what size it is. I also have a nonfluid drive throw out bearing too, so can try a comparison.

Did the Straight 8s use the same as the 6s????

The C39 or any other FD bearing is bigger than a std trans W/O the coupling.

According to my mopar book:

all models:

1935-52 without fluid drive clutch release bearing old number 602219 new number 658998

1941-52 with fluid drive 658948

According to my 1954 NAPA book

Chryler with fluid drive bearing only 40-54 was Federal bearing 1055

all with standard trans bearing only 40-54 Federal 1054

same for Chrylser, Dodge, Desoto and Plymouth but Ply did not use the fluid drive.
