After doing hours of searching...........

It looks like both Roberts and Steele have fitment problems. Have these been addressed? Are there any other suppliers?

I thought Steele was revising their molds to take care of the pinchweld proiblem.

Doesn't SOFTSEAL (sp?) offer a wider replacement? I thought I had seen that posted here somewhere? Mike

Steele retooled their windshield rubber. I had installed their previous version, but when I heard of a re-do I called them and got a return authorization. Got the new seal and redid the windows. It's now legit.

How strict is California on glass cracks in old trucks? Driver's side has cracks on lower left of driver: Passenger side is cracked through. Do the glass sources give good advice on installation?

Ok John, with all the rain we've had, does it leak? Mine is the old version and I was never able to get it to seal. If the new version doesn't leak it may be worth it to replace mine.:)

They confirmed the mold was redone (around first quarter 2011). I had purchased a weatherstrip about three years ago and was finally getting around to installing when I saw the thread about them making a change. I called them and they immediately issued a RMA and I'm getting a new one! Can't beat Steele customer service!

It rained pretty good last week when I was on vacation, I came home and didn't find any puddles in the cab. It's been raining all day today and no leaks.

This is really the first real test (first real rain this year) and I'm finally happy the windshield doesn't leak. I'd say the credit gets split halfway between the improved design and improved technique. This time I put urethane between the glass and rubber, and tightened the inside garnish trim a little more each day in the sun after installing. Also more liberal application of the glazing compound.
