Dave72dt Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Once the valves are out, oil pump and dist out, turn the engine on it's side or upside down, rotate the cam a couple turns and it should come out. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 your tappets must be away from the lobes..if you are not able to rotate the engine head down...you can lift the tappets and clip with clothes pins..just be sure if you reuse these tappets and cam combo that the respective tappets remians in the proper hole.. supertweet Posted February 26, 2012 Author Report Posted February 26, 2012 o.k. i'll get back out there, remove valves and keep in same order for re-install, thx,Dave. Quote
Rusty O'Toole Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Be careful not to let the cam lobes scratch the bearings, hold the cam up and slowly pull out. Sometimes it helps to turn the cam slightly . Quote
