I went to the "local" yard today and found some things I don't need:

found this dash ornament, the pegs on back are broken off, but maybe some new ones could be glued back on (machine a small counterbore and glue in some new clear plastic pegs)?

also found this SS nose piece that should be for the Dodges (it was loose in a PH cab). I don't have one so I don't know for sure.

PM me if you are interested in either, will pass along for cost or trade.

I've been to all the salvage yards around here & ZERO Pilothouses, I always drive back roads so I can scope out what people have parked out back but it's been a long time since I've stumbled on an old Pilothouse without the Internets help.

well the "local" yard I went to takes about 1.5 hours to get to from my house, has 100 acres of vehicles and only 2 PH trucks, or what really remains of 2 trucks with random stuff tossed in the cabs. Not much left honestly. I was hoping a "new" one had shown up in the last 2 years, to no avail, heck the one cab was one I had picked a few things from 2 summers ago.

And Ed, Sunny's (drove by it on the way out to French Lake) everything is crushed and stacked....big EMPTY field now....:(

In the 80's I was working on restoring a 69 SS RS Camaro, a local yard had over 100 67, 68, 69 Camaro' so I had lots of cars to pick, I went every payday & got another part.

I showed up 1 day & it was all gone, every one of them crushed for scrap.

tragic! I wish they would have had a big sale to let people pick some of what was left.

Anyone know if the Dodge dash plate is supposed to be painted or left natural? I see a bit of silver paint on it but after 59 years no telling what it had been painted in the past.

The plastic dash script was originally painted silver. I kinda like the "natural" clear look on mine so far...
