Need to fill my fluid drive-what to use?

The fluid was a little low in the torque converter of my 1950 dodge, is it save to use something like dexron in it or should a certain fluid be used?, thanks

Since I don't have a car equipped with that I don't recall the answer right off, but I do recall that it has been covered here before and so the search function should turn up an answer for you.

Don't just refill it. Do it right and drain the old, it could be 60 years old, and refill with new oil.

I was at Advance last evening picking up some gear oil for the newly installed 8 3/4 when I saw thay had AW32 on the shelf for 10.00 a gallon..am sure they are handier in most areas over tracking down a TSC store
