Plymouthy Adams Posted August 2, 2012 Report Posted August 2, 2012 I got that once..to this day I cannot bring myself to eat Brunswick stew..horrible experience to say the least..take it easy..car is eating nothing where it sits.. Quote
MoparAl- Posted August 3, 2012 Author Report Posted August 3, 2012 Thanx guys, Greg, i asked my paint supplier about hardener and he said it didnt need it, but i found that the paint didnt harden properly hence i mucked up the top coat and ended up sending it for a quick blow over with a mate. The colour in the last pic does look wedgewood but its the way the light shines on it ( i had the flurescant lights on ) ive taken another pic today from the other end of the garage with rubbish lighting and now it looks a lot more Grey ? cameras and light eh ! MoparAl- Posted August 6, 2012 Author Report Posted August 6, 2012 Spent a couple of hours putting back the stainless trim on Sunday, the front grill took hours upon hours as i wanted to reuse the original capture nuts. Screen not in yet but im almost there ! ive got the original hood stainless setup with the hood ornament light at the front etc but have found an immaculate one piece chrome bar that will fit the entire length of the hood i think they call it a bullnose, now im spoilt for choice ! will post again when im next out Quote
Niel Hoback Posted August 6, 2012 Report Posted August 6, 2012 The dash looks great! The car is beautiful either way you o on the hood trim. I would suggest, however, that there is nothing like following a lighted hood ornament at night. Not everyone gets that chance. Nice color too, by the way. Quote
normanpitkin Posted August 6, 2012 Report Posted August 6, 2012 Hey,moparal, looks like you are nearly ready to come out to play! Quote
MoparAl- Posted August 7, 2012 Author Report Posted August 7, 2012 Another couple of hours today, i had to weld new clips for the hood trim, the fender trim didnt go to well so might redo that at a later date as it doesnt fit the fender snuggly, ironically if i used the drivers one upside down on the passenger fender it fitted perfectly ! the larger of the bevel does go up top doesnt it ? MoparAl- Posted September 2, 2012 Author Report Posted September 2, 2012 Hi Guys thanx for the encouragement, just got back from a break down in the southwest of England, couldnt wait to get home and fit the rocker trims and give the old gal a trip to me Dads, car went great and so did the overdrive. New front glass made a real difference as did the rebuilt wiper motor from Ficken's. Going to spend the winter upgrading little bits and pieces, undersealing everywhere i can and hopefully get some dosh together for a new interior, going to get this guy to do it for me, here is a link to a rod site in the Uk that he posts on. http://www.rodsnsods.co.uk/forum/topic/whats-trim-shop-week-32177 This is how the car looks today, just got to refit the washer jets and the exterior is all back together.
