SKIPPER1 Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 need to remove my left front tire for repair of slow leak. I know i go counterclockwise to loosen, and in fact got i lug nut loosened using Liquid Wrench, but I cant budge the other lug nuts. Anything else one can recommed to loosen the lug nuts would be appreciated. SKIPPER1 Quote
TodFitch Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 Maybe an impact wrench would work them loose... Quote
pflaming Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Dad taught me to take a GOOD punch and give a tight bolt several very SOLID hits with a GOOD hammer. It's always worked for me. You cannot strip the threads but you will jar them so you can turn them. Good luck! Quote
Merle Coggins Posted December 21, 2011 Report Posted December 21, 2011 Left front should be Clockwise to loosen as they are left hand thread, unless the drums have been switched. Look for an "L" stamped into the end of the stud or lug bolt. If they are marked with an "L" than Counter-Clockwise with tighten them. Merle Quote
SKIPPER1 Posted December 22, 2011 Author Report Posted December 22, 2011 Thanks to Plaming, Tod, and Merle; I was able to "hammer" the lug nuts loose. Took a little muscle loosening them but their off! All is good. Thanks guys, and have a Merry Christmas. SKIPPER1 Quote
