1940plymouth Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 Michael, speaking of P-15's, have you been driving yours yet? Quote
greg g Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 You are correct Bob. Conspicuous by its absence is any report, picture, video, driving impression, comment, regarding the completion of this storied project. Quote

1940plymouth Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 I don't think it is any colder in NYC than it is up here in the Catskills, I have had mine out most everyday until last Tuesday. Last Saturday I put close to a 100 miles on the old thing. The only way you are going to get use to it, is to DRIVE it. Get out there and enjoy it before the snow flies down there and the roads get salted. Quote
Captain Neon Posted December 10, 2011 Report Posted December 10, 2011 well its been about 4 months drove it twice, its cold here in ny as you know, the summer she will see some use.after all the addition, i have alot of money in the old girl and im afraid of the car a little. You haven't driven the car since early August? How boring. November was all rain. Had it not been raining, I would have brought my P15 out for the company Christmas party last Saturday. The city of Topeka has been spreading magnesium chloride ever since so the ol' Plymouth is now away for the winter until we have a good rain to get the salt off the roads. Quote
michael.warshaw Posted December 10, 2011 Author Report Posted December 10, 2011 i bought (leased) a new maserati gran turismo so ive been hoppin around in that. fun car ferrari engine cant go wrong. Quote
randroid Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 Michael, Pictures of a Maserati are always fun to see too. -Randy Quote
greg g Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 Didja go for the 0 down, and 1199 per month deal??? The Kubang appealed to me but we just couldn't get together, on the residual value. Seems the old Italian car low resale value is still a bugaboo. And service would be problematic here. Quote
Don Coatney Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 i bought (leased) a new maserati gran turismo so ive been hoppin around in that. fun car ferrari engine cant go wrong. I think I would be a bit afraid to drive a Ferrari powered car in the winter more so than a P-15. How many bucks do you have in your P-15? Quote

How many bucks do you have in your P-15? if i had to do a wuick estiamte i can honestly say im into it for around 60k mark. bought the car for 7750.00 labor of the resto shop was around 40k parts about 20k professional services interior, chrome polishing stainless 12k other misc parts 5k i could be off this is justa wuick draft, if i could do it all over again i would never it wasnt a fun restoration, its like pulling teeth. ill never do a resto again, i will buy them done only, live and learn type of deal. i never knew why thre were so many projects up for sale all the time for killer prices, its b.c. a resto is very hard to complete in all aspects, after a whilei hated paying the resto guys everyweek, it was like child support and i have no children! greg g Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 Hmmmm! Way back when this excersize started, I believe several folks on this very forum advised you that it was a nice looking car, to get it mechanically solid and enjoy it. Several also suggested that the money you were contemplating spending on a "restoration" would in no way ever be able to be recouped with a Plymouth. You chose to follow a your muse along a different path. I drove mine nearly 4000 trouble free and enjoyable miles this past summer for the cost of gas, oil, insurance and registration fees. Met some very nice new folks, reaquainted with several friends from past travels, got a nice award at a National meet, and had a lot of old car fun. Hope some day you can say something similar. Quote
Don Coatney Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 My guess was something over 40 grand. I was way off. What are your plans for the car now? Are you going to trailer it to shows? Seems a waste to keep it parked in a storage building. Does that Maserati have enough engine to pull your P-15 on a trailer? Quote
michael.warshaw Posted December 11, 2011 Author Report Posted December 11, 2011 at this point in time have many cars, the p15 was a interesting project and im very happy with the results, living in long isalnd and working in nyc, and being cold doesnst help me to drive the car. ill drive her when the weather gets better. yes 520 hp, she could prolly pull my house! Quote
dezeldoc Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 520hp thats it! My stinky ol Dodge diesel puts down 619hp to the rear wheels with the street tune in it.:p Quote

Huh, when I add up those figures I come up with 84.7K ? You still owe the resto shop money ? Quote
