Key Blanks

Looking for key blanks for my truck. I tried to get a new key today only to find no one carries a blank. The locksmith was able to alter a blank to make an extra key. Works but I would like to find some original. Any one out there have any blanks or knowledge of where to find them?

I got mine at ANYTIME LOCK AND SAFE in Bremerton WA. I see you are in Bothell so it isn't too far away. Far enough but not out of state.

The 2 brass keys are the Hurd type key blanks-studebaker used them too. I think Briggs supplied the other type of key style-the triangle Ignition switch aluminum looking key. The aluminum keys came with my 1952 dodge pickup when I bought it in 1973.

I only had one key for my truck so the purpose was to get some additional keys made. The local Locksmith was unable to match the key.

Just try another locksmith, 1st one I walked into had the blanks.

If no other locksmiths will yours order the blanks?

I got lucky when I walked into a local locksmith (Bonified Safe and Lock in Brookfield). I also only had one key and it was a duplicate already. Not only did they have a couple of blanks, they had ones with the Chrysler logo on them.

However, my luck ran out shortly after that as my fuel pump failed just a few blocks from the locksmith as I was heading home. A passerby helped tow me off the street into a parking lot where I installed my rebuilt spare that was stored under the seat. At least I wasn't stranded with my new keys.

I got my original Mopar keys from these guys. Then took them and

had them duplicated from the key I had.

You need to seek out a "mom and pop" key shop. They might have

your correct Mopar blanks and can pick a lock and make keys for it

if you do not have the key for a lock.

I found these at a local key shop after about 2 hours searching in old boxes they had under the counter

I bought some like that on ebay but they wouldn't work with my ign switch. I wonder if I still have them somewhere.

Did you ask the locksmith what blank you need as in part number? Original equipment keys are on Ebay all the time but you need to know which one will fit your locks.
