Mark D Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 Moose made a small modification to his inline powered "A" this summer. Found some pictures of the "operation" that where taken and the Alter-Boys cruise this past August. Use the next button at the top of the page to see the show after you've clicked the link. http://www.katefischerphoto.com/alterboys/content/_MG_8554.html The show continues here... http://www.katefischerphoto.com/alterboys/content/_MG_8945.html We're gonna have to rely on Moose to update us with the final shot as it seems the photographer didn't bother??!!... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ and, here's a shot of my car looking very vintage at the same show. http://www.katefischerphoto.com/alterboys/content/_MG_8712.html Quote
oldodge41 Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 Gutsy move. Hope it ended well. I'm sure with Moose's talents it did. Lots of great pics. Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 Like they say - anyone can restore an old car.....it takes a real man to cut one up. I can appreciate the before and after as much as the next guy, but the "during" makes me queesy. Like jumping out of an airplane, the only time its a problem is when your standing in that door, and the next move is to jump - my fellow Paratroopers out there know what I'm talkin about Getting to the door is a piece of cake, once your out its nice and peaceful (unless someone is not looking forward to your arrival, and is shooting at you on the way down). 1940plymouth Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 Dan, You are a better man than me, I don't think I could jump out of a perfectly good plane, but in the same token, it has to be an AWESOME experience. Quote
moose Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 I'll just say, I am satisfied. My friend, one of the Alter Boys, called me a week before the show. He said the other car that they were going to use, got sold and they needed another one. I had to think about it for quite awhile. Then I said OK. Drove the unchopped car to the show about 11am. Drove it home chopped at around 11pm. They even had a windshield there ready to go! Quote
Mark D Posted November 18, 2011 Author Report Posted November 18, 2011 Looks great. Gotta come see it in person. Quote
oldodge41 Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Moose, I love it! That looks great. How many inches did you chop it? Quote
moose Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Three inches. They call it a gentleman's chop. I'm a tall gentleman, I guess. Mark- What are you doing Sunday? Quote

1940plymouth Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Yes, it sure looks good, not a radical chop. Please keep us posted Quote
Mark D Posted November 18, 2011 Author Report Posted November 18, 2011 Moose - I'll drop you a txt tomorrow as soon as I get a chance to speak with my bride. Sunday is supposed to be a great weather day, perfect for a ride down in the Plymouth. Quote
Mark D Posted November 21, 2011 Author Report Posted November 21, 2011 Your place is great, very envious for sure. Next trip down I say we pull the dizzy from my car and give it a whirl on your tester. Love to see what it says. By the way the, Ruby seemed to perform alittle better on the return trip after you made those carb tweaks. Not a stutter, stumble or stall on the 42 mile ride home. I'm happy. Let me know if you feel like headed back to the old 'hood anytime soon. I owe you a beer or two or three. Quote
