BeBop138
Put together some trailer jacks and put on some better wheels and we can roll it around the shop better----has a decent range of up and down-----will do the fronts when the front clip comes off.......Lee

BeBop138
Finally a update---damn computers they just do what they want to---then I have to figure what happened---me ha-ha. We got pics of the lower rear drivers side all ready for mud and a little more repair by the tail light area. Roof has had three coats of Dura-glas and one coat of light weight filler--maybe one more coat of filler and touch up the small dings and the roof should be ready for primer. It will be nice when the roof is done such a large area to work on......Lee
BeBop138
We worked till 11:00 tonite and got the roof in final mud---just one more sanding with a finer paper---do some small ding work and primer soon. Dura-Glas on the pillars and one coat of light weight mud too. Couple shots of the "Kid" doing the Dura-Glas.........Lee
BeBop138
So much little stuff---it seems you work 10 hours on it and you step back and go--what the hey did I get done. Roof will be in final prime on Thursday if all goes well---even a little extra as I have the tailgate area all shinny, plus the cowl. Been putting together the rear disc conversion for the Ford nine inch--still hunting for a 3:50 to 3:70 posi pumpkin--kinda got one on the line---but still looking. Good to get off the body work for a little change of pace. Been hitting the body stuff since Oct. 31. The conversion is very simple---84 S-10 front calipers from a 4X2 and 83 AMC Eagle front rotors off a 4X4. The axle outside flange needs to be turned down a hair and inside of the rotor the same---take the caliper and put it on the bracket--put it on the rotor--shoot some air into the caliper to lock them and turn bracket on housing till it is placed were you want it---weld to housing---done deal---$150 bucks. Maybe this could be used on other applications?? Brackets can be got at Lou Fegers Racing in Delano MN. Shot of the sub-frame connectors too. BeBop138
Took the day off today and relaxed. Did manage to shine up the drivers side rear quarter---good to stay ahead of the Kid. Some small hammer pics and worm holes from a lousy bondo job. There is a crease along the trim line where some dunderhead tightened down the trim nuts to tight-and some dents below the gas filler. Lots to get straight on this side---more long boarding....Lee
BeBop138
Tonite we got the roof in primer---one coat of acid primer and three coats of filler primer---man that feels good to put some paint back on:D. The old man did the honors---can`t let the "Kid" have all the fun.................Lee
randroid
Lee, We've hardly had a chance to respond for all the narration and pictures so while you're taking a breath let me say how fascinating it is to watch a couple pros "do it right". Looking forward to the next installments. -Randy

BeBop138
Latest-----rear quarter was pulled,bent,hammered---then some more---think we have it straight enough for mud---do have a little oil canning near the tailight area and will try to resolve before next Thursday (car nite for the Kid)---this is the quarter in question---it was damaged in battle---it will be repaired soon..........Lee
BeBop138
We started on the quarter tonite and will do one body line at a time---a little time consuming but is the best way to do it. The dark spots show where we had to do some metal shrinking----this panel even after all the straighting is going to be a tough job. The Kid seems to have it under control. Updates will be farther between as the Kid does all the mud work and he comes on Thursday nites. All the major sheet metal is welded in and the rest waits for him. As the mechanical stuff picks up, so will the updates......Thanks for looking............Lee

BeBop138
Lee awesome work from the both of you. Do you make house calls???? Could be!!!! Have to get my stuff done first. The Chrysler needs the new rear motor mounts---going to try and use the old ones----bigger---better for the vibration issue----what do you need to do on yours? Rusty at the bottom in front of the fender and the little piece on each side of the trunk lid.
old stovebolt
when I dropped a radiator on my toe, I used a tiny drill bit....worked well.
BeBop138
Its not the full 1/4. Rusty at the bottom in front of the fender and the little piece on each side of the trunk lid. If ya can get patch pieces it isn`t to bad of a job---just make em bigger so you can trim to fit......Lee
BeBop138
OK---things are slowing down---this panel is not to straight, having some problems with shrinking and the metal is so thin near the tailight area---spent about two more hours tweeking it the best we could. Put some Dura-Glas in the bad areas for fill----will do the final mud work with the lighter stuff next trip. On top of that my radiator crapped out on the streetrod--so we be fixin that too.........tis the season.........Lee
BeBop138
Back at it tonite----two weeks off---we both had other things to do. Got two coats of mud on---the second coat set up to fast and didn`t get as much on as we wanted. One more coat next week and the following week, hopefully some primer. This panel is finally starting to take shape---it has been a tough one. Some pics--one of the "Kid" hard at it........Lee
BeBop138
Tonite we did the quarter in three different sections to keep the body lines the best we could. Looks like next week it could be in primer---may need some glaze work to final tweek it. Trying to have the whole drivers side ready for primer also. Glad this side is almost done---hopefully the other side will go smoother-----thanks for looking......Lee
BeBop138
Tonite we finished the drivers side----one good coat acid primer and three coats of primer surfacer. The rear axle is near completion---spring perch relocation and disc brake brackets---also re-drilling the front hubs for the rims the "Kid" wants---5 x 115----.7mm difference than the Ford pattern---not much to worry about---but as long as I had to have them re-drilled, may as well do it on the money. Already started getting the pass. side ready for mud work next Thursday---some pics......Lee
dezeldoc
Looking good Lee! Just think in a few weeks you get to block off all that nice primer then go for some color!!

BeBop138
Thanks guys----Dez---it`s starting to look like a California car:D--intentions are to get the car in primer then out to his shop--block this last coat--shoot one more coat of primer---block that---then base coat-block-clear-block-buff. Then bring her home for all the rest. The "Kid" will do the doors--hood--fenders at work. All the wrench work will be done at my shop.
