Got my 48 running again after cleaning the fuel pump, install new line from pump to carb, new line from small gas can to fuel pump. I quickly made an air cleaner until I take the time to clean the oil bath air cleaner. I used a cookie tin and a Fram air filter. It should work for the present time.

Hmmm suspiciously similar to my teflon baking sheets and oval filter element for my duals.

I believe the teflon is good fro about 5HP........As the air can move a lot faster into the carbs.

I'm curious as to what sort of seal you used (if any) between the filter and the carb, and if you used the regular bolt from the carb to hold it down.

I made a gasket from a sheet of cork I had bought from Advance auto parts.

I put in a small plate on each side of the filter, one to bolt onto the original

filter bracket, and another one on the other side.

This is just a temporary filter until I do a real good cleaning of the original

filter assembly.
