ggdad1951
so I need to replace one of mine. Not finding the exact part anywhere (VPW, Bernbaums, MSC, Grainger, Roberts, etc.....). MSC/Grainger/McMaster/etc have "hairpin clips", but not quite the same (general shape and all round wire instead of flat). What have you guys used to replace these? John-T-53
These are unique clips! I was missing one and made another from a hair pin cotter by heating, bending, and hammering it flat on opposite sides. Got it close enough so it worked. Might try this place too...they have all sorts of obsolete auto fastners: http://www.rjlautofasteners.com/ Email the guy there, Roman, your picture and he may be able to hook you up. rjlfast@hotmail.com Let us know if you have any luck....thanks,
ggdad1951
didn't the heating/beating take the spring out of the clip? I'll let you know if I get any info back from my e-mail.
Young Ed
You could try the guys and brake and equipment warehouse. They're pretty good at finding some of the old parts.

Probably, but it's still holding my e-brake cable in place up top. Heating in an oven 500 degrees for 1/2 hour would probably heat treat it...I did this for an e-brake spring modification and worked great.
