Jim Yergin Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 This morning I had to drive to Midlothian, Virginia, about 100 miles from my home in Warrenton, Virginia. It was my first real long distance drive with my working overdrive and new driveshaft. The car ran great and the overdrive was truly worth all the hassle to get it to work right. Here is a video I took on the drive. Not real clear but at 60 mph the tach reads around 2500 rpm (I have a 4.3 rear). Jim Yergin Quote
greg g Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 car sounds good, give it a good shake down. Maybe we can see you on the road some where. Quote

Joe Flanagan Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 What a great reward for all your hard work, Jim. Congratulations. Quote

Flatie46 Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 I see you have turn signal indicators, were they original to your car? Quote
Jim Yergin Posted August 12, 2011 Author Report Posted August 12, 2011 I see you have turn signal indicators, were they original to your car? No. I modified a Dodge turn signal indicator to fit my Plymouth. Jim Yergin Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Hey Jim, isn't that fun to do:)You can hear the motor is running great. You were flying! I am real glad the car is running like that. Now we got to get together down at Martha's Roaring twenties Museum. When it gets cooler(Temp) I will pull my 1940 out and meet you. Quote
Jim Yergin Posted August 14, 2011 Author Report Posted August 14, 2011 Rodney, sounds good to me. Jim Yergin Quote
Jim Yergin Posted August 14, 2011 Author Report Posted August 14, 2011 Calculated my mpg for the trip. It worked out to be a little over 18 mpg compared to usual 12 mpg before the overdrive. My woodie is truly a large heavy packing crate of a vehicle but the overdrive now helps. Jim Yergin Quote
Chester Brzostowski Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 Good job Jim, I am glad to see you driving the car rather then working on it. I hope to be in the similar place a month from now. Chet… Quote
