Charlie Olson Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 (edited) Okay Boys!!! It is hard to think that it has been almost a year(that means 12 months to those in TN) since PLYWOOD was crashed and crumpled in Alpine Ca, on the way to Wavecrest, the biggest dang Woodie meet in the whole world. I am working out a deal to have the Phantom Real Woodie hauled to Encinitas, in exchange for paying for all of the fuel and lodging, of the tow driver, so they, too, can enjoy getting out of the HEAT. I learned this approach from Craig Johnson, past president of the National Woodie Club, to whom I say thanks for the idea. Being as I won last year's HARD LUCK award, I was encouraged to participate in creating and awarding this year's HARD LUCK award. Ron Heiden, of Heiden's Woodworking will be helping me incorporate the smashed, crunched, torn wrecked hub cap into a beautiful trophy mounted on some beautiful Woodie wood from his shop. As is the Aloha Spirit, once I pass on the award, my Aloha Spirit will once again be strong because I passed on to someone else a token to lift their spirits; like mine were helped last year, at Wavecrest, by all of the Woodie people. Hope you are all being safe in this current heat wave that is covering our bottom 48. Aloha! http://www.sandiegowoodies.com/ (click on the club cars to see a lot of cool Woodies) Edited July 21, 2011 by Charlie Olson Quote
