austinsailor Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 there was a big local car parts auction here last week, but I was out of town. How could that be lucky? There were some mopar parts nobody wanted, they were going to toss them. my local machinist knows that is my deal, so he grabbed them and gave them to me today. 3.54 ring and pinion, a new synconizer set, a pilot shaft ( next clutch should be easier) a 20's or early 30's sector, and more. I'll post part numbers later and hopefully see what they fit. Quote
austinsailor Posted May 23, 2011 Author Report Posted May 23, 2011 very early sector gear # 261550cx pilotshaft #864008 (probably fluid drive) 2 headlight buckets# 863807 1 headlight bucket 854797 syncronizer #684705 2 pulleys #633734 Quote
RobertKB Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 A good way to find out what each is for is to go to this webiste and put in (copy and paste) the numbers. If they have the number it will indicate what each is for and usually gives a good idea of price if you want to sell or ebay them. http://www.collectorsautosupply.com/search/index.htm Quote
austinsailor Posted May 23, 2011 Author Report Posted May 23, 2011 (edited) Thanks. That finds all but the headlight buckets. Edited May 23, 2011 by austinsailor Quote
Young Ed Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 Got a picture of the buckets? Are they like 30s style that would be painted and external to the fender or just the retainer style inside the fender? Quote
austinsailor Posted May 23, 2011 Author Report Posted May 23, 2011 I'll get pictures, maybe later tonight. Two pairs, both go in the fender, one has a place for the parking light on top. Numbers didn't come up on that parts locater thing above. Quote
desoto1939 Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 Bucket 863807 are for the Desoto 1941 model S8. Rich Hartung Desoto1939@aol.com Quote
austinsailor Posted May 24, 2011 Author Report Posted May 24, 2011 I got some pictures but can't post from the iPhone. I did see that it's not a place for a parking light, just a flat spot on one side/top/bottom. steering sector was a 31- 33 or so Plymouth, syncros were 35 - 39 Plymouth. Wish I still had my 35 Plymouth coupe to use them in. Quote
